Template:Real World The DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU) is a film franchise and shared universe that is based on characters that appear in publications by DC Comics. The films shared universe is akin the DC Universe in their comic books, which has had cross over plot elements, settings and characters.
The franchises first film was Man of Steel (2013), which is set to be followed by Batman vs. Superman (2015). Other known additional films are in various stages of development are The Flash, Wonder Woman, all culminating towards a film based on the Justice League.

Future
Depending on how successful the films are, other films have been announced as possibilities including more films based on Superman, a solo film for Batman and Aquaman. The 2011 film Green Lantern's status in the franchise is currently unknown.
